Why We Fast:
An Invitation to Prepare

The greatest moment in history—Jesus conquering death and the grave—deserves intentional preparation. We don’t want to simply arrive at Resurrection Sunday; we want to be ready for it.

Moving Beyond Routine

Fasting isn't about religious duty or earning God’s favor. It’s a declaration that we need Him more than we need anything else. Just as Jesus prepared in the wilderness and the early church fasted before major milestones, we are setting aside these 21 days to align our hearts with God’s purposes.

Creating Space to Encounter Jesus

Our goal is to remove the distractions that dull our spiritual senses. When we  humble ourselves through fasting, we:

  • Quiet the noise to hear God’s voice more clearly.

  • Exchange the natural for the supernatural.

  • Seek bold faith and clear vision for the future of our church.

The Invitation is Simple

Whether you’ve fasted for years or this is your very first time, the invitation is the same: fast from one thing for something better. As we deny ourselves physically, we open ourselves spiritually. Let’s journey together toward Resurrection Sunday—not as passive observers, but as a people fully alive in Christ.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." — Matthew 5:6
